WrestleMania 37 To Take Place In Tampa, No Longer “Going Hollywood”

July 15, 2020

WWE have been planning to go big for WrestleMania 37, so big in fact that they have billed it as “WrestleMania Goes Holywood”. The most recent show of shows was meant to take place in Tampa, but due to the COVID19 pandemic it ended up taking place in Orlando instead, in front of zero fans at the WWE Performance Center. You can bet that WWE will go all out to make WrestleMania 37 their biggest even ever.

Back in April, the LA Times reported that Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti stated in a briefing that “large gatherings such as concerts and sporting events may not be approved in the city for at least 1 year.” Ringside News have now learned that the March 28th, 2021 event at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California isn’t going to happen as expected. WrestleMania 37 will instead now take place in Tampa, where WrestleMania 36 should have taken place.

A source within WWE told RSN that WrestleMania 37 is going to take place in Tampa to make up for the lost WrestleMania 36 event. Additionally, it was confirmed that WWE promised next year’s WrestleMania event to Tampa to keep Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida, on side. This is the same DeSantis who declared WWE as an essential business shortly after Linda McMahon promised $18.5 million to Florida through a presidential Super PAC that she operates.

RSN were also told that Los Angeles might get WrestleMania in 2022, but that has yet to be 100% confirmed.
